Established in 2009, Global Auto Works is a family run, locally owned business for Justin Garvey & Kim Wright. Justin, a highly-trained luxury car mechanic who worked as a BMW and Volvo technician in Europe for 10 years, was working at Main St European Mercedes Benz and Jeep dealership, when the Karamu Rd car dealer was placed into receivership in 2009. Unable to watch on as former workmates lost their jobs, Justin and Kim - who at the time had just returned to the region to be close to family - instead saw an opportunity to fulfil their dream of becoming business owners in Hawke’s Bay. The couple proceeded to purchase all the existing plant and equipment from the receivers and leased the old workshop – thus Global Auto Works was born and a dream was realised.

The dream has continued with Global Auto Work’s move later in 2009 to their unmissable current premises, conveniently located along Karamu Rd. Global Auto Works are specialists in servicing European and American cars, including BMW, VW, Audi, Volvo, Mercedes-Benz, Jeep and Chrysler, fully utilising Justin’s expertise with these leading manufacturers.

The fully-equipped work bays allow Justin and fellow mechanic David Brand to do what they do best – keeping your luxury vehicle in pristine condition with regular servicing. But they are just as qualified to repair and meet the servicing requirements of any vehicle, old or new, and regardless of make or model. If its parts you need, or a loan vehicle while your repairs are being carried out, Kim is always happy to organise it for you. So for everything from a simple WOF for your Toyota Corolla to a mechanical overhaul of your Mercedes Benz, come in to Global Auto Works at 900 Karamu Rd, Hastings, on the corner of Charlotte Crescent.
